Signs Your Coolant Needs Service
The most obvious sign your engine cooling system is failing is if your engine starts overheating. This could be a sign that your coolant level is low. It’s also possible the coolant is leaking, or blocked by sediment or debris. Steam coming from under the hood, or white smoke coming out of your exhaust are also signs of overheating, or your vehicle burning off coolant.
Topping Up
Your engine coolant regularly needs to be topped up to maintain an optimal level. You can check your coolant reservoir to see if the liquid is reaching the full line, and generally never need to open it yourself. If the level is low, consider taking it for service to have it refilled.
Changing Fluids
If the coolant is off-colour or full of particulate, it may be time to flush the coolant system and replace it. Simply draining the reservoir and replacing the fluid won’t fully flush out the system, so having experts handle a coolant change is a good way to ensure the system is completely maintained.
