Downtown AutoGroup: You Are What Drives Us!

At Downtown AutoGroup (DAG), it's our people who power our success. Every day, our team is committed to delivering a world-class experience to our Guests, going beyond expectations to create something truly unforgettable.

In listening to our Guests, we’ve created The DAG Way, which empowers our Guests to do business with us in a way that is most convenient for them, and at the place that is most comfortable for them. Our amazing team knows that we’re not just selling cars—we’re crafting extraordinary moments. We build trust, loyalty, and lifetime relationships with every interaction.

Who Are We?

DAG is more than just an elite automotive group of 10 successful dealerships representing 12 brands in the GTA. With our newly-built Autoplex, we're revolutionizing the car-buying experience.

The new DAG Autoplex, which began operations in Fall 2021, is the boldest expression yet of DAG’s vision. The Autoplex is home to 7 of our 10 dealerships in one convenient downtown location.

The Autoplex breaks new ground as the first mixed-use development of its kind in North America, sharing its urban footprint with approximately 900 residential units as well as street-level retail and public space. Parking and Service departments have been located below ground to maintain a beautiful, pedestrian-friendly streetscape. The Autoplex allows us to continue serving the downtown community in a brand-new state of the art facility, conveniently located in the heart of Toronto at 77 E. Don Roadway, near Queen & Broadview

Founded by Shahin Alizadeh over 30 years ago, DAG has grown to a team of over 350 people across its sales, service, and administrative operations. As the group has grown from a single Toyota dealership in Downtown Toronto to its current form, the DAG management team has worked hard to understand the unique needs of our Guests and adapt to the ever- changing landscape.

Our mission is to create lifetime Guests through exceptional Guest Experience. We empower our Guests to shop and service their vehicles on their terms and consistently deliver high-quality experiences across sales, service, parts and administration.

DAG makes 3 commitments: to our Guests, to each other and to our community.

Commitment to our Guests

DAG is committed to providing an exceptional Guest Experience, converting Guests into lifetime DAG advocates. We believe that complete Guest satisfaction in all areas of our operation – sales, service, parts and administration – is key to our success and future growth. Complete Guest satisfaction means going out of our way so Guests can do business with us on their terms.

Commitment to each other

At DAG, we believe that exceptional Guest Experience starts internally. We are each other’s first line of customers. Managers equip their teams with the tools they need to succeed. We pitch in to help each other meet our individual and collective goals. We treat each other the same way we treat our Guests.

Commitment to our community

DAG has been part of the Toronto community since 1992. We actively support charitable initiatives in the communities we serve, including Michael Garron Hospital, The Covenant House, and Women’s College Hospital, and we encourage our colleagues to do the same.

When Guests visit our dealerships, we are inviting them into our home. That means our dealerships’ neighbours are our neighbours. This is particularly true at the Autoplex, where we share many common areas with the residents of the Baseball Place residential condominiums.

Are You the Perfect Fit?

We're looking for dynamic individuals who are bursting with energy, enthusiasm, honesty, and a strong sense of ethics. If you take pride in your work, are naturally curious about learning new things, and love making a difference, you could be the shining star we need! These standards are developed to break down barriers and increase accessibility for persons with disabilities in the areas of information and communications and employment.

Downtown AutoGroup is governed by this policy as well as the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service Policy and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 in meeting the accessibility needs of persons with disabilities.

Commitment

Downtown AutoGroup is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We believe in integration and equal opportunity. We are committed to meeting the needs of persons with disabilities in a timely manner, and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005).

This policy will be implemented in accordance with the time frames established by the Regulation.

Accessibility Plan

Downtown AutoGroup will develop, maintain and document a multi-year Accessibility Plan outlining the company's strategy to prevent and remove barriers from its workplace and to improve opportunities for persons with disabilities.

The Accessibility Plan will be reviewed and updated at least once every five years, and will be posted on the company's website. Upon request, Downtown AutoGroup will provide a copy of the Accessibility Plan in an accessible format, within five (5) business days.

Training Employees and Volunteers

Downtown AutoGroup will ensure that training is provided on the requirements of the accessibility standards referred to in the Regulation and continue to provide training on the Human Rights Code as it pertains to persons with disabilities, to:

  • all its employees and volunteers;
  • all persons who participate in developing Downtown AutoGroup' policies; and,
  • all other persons who provide goods, services or facilities on behalf of the company.

The training will be appropriate to the duties of the employees, volunteers and other persons.

Employees will be trained when changes are made to the accessibility policy. New employees will be trained as soon as possible.

Downtown AutoGroup will keep a record of the training it provides.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports

Upon request, Downtown AutoGroup will provide, or will arrange for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports for persons with disabilities in a timely manner that takes into account the person's accessibility needs due to disability.

Downtown AutoGroup will consult with the person making the request in determining the suitability of an accessible format or communication support.

Downtown AutoGroup will also notify the public about the availability of accessible formats and communication supports.

Downtown AutoGroup will notify its employees and the public about the availability of accommodation for applicants with disabilities in its recruitment process.

Recruitment, Assessment or Selection Process

Downtown AutoGroup will notify job applicants, when they are individually selected to participate further in an assessment or selection process that accommodations are available upon request in relation to the materials or processes to be used.

If a selected applicant requests an accommodation, Downtown AutoGroup will consult with the applicant and provide, or arrange for the provision of, a suitable accommodation in a manner that takes into account the applicant's accessibility needs due to disability.

Notice to Successful Applicants

When making offers of employment, Downtown AutoGroup will notify the successful applicant of its policies for accommodating employees with disabilities.

Informing Employees of Supports

Downtown AutoGroup will continue to inform its employees of its policies (and any updates to those policies) used to support employees with disabilities, including policies on the provision of job accommodations that take into account an employee's accessibility needs due to disability. This information will be provided to new employees as soon as practicable after commencing employment.

Accessible Formats and Communication Supports for Employees

Upon the request of an employee with a disability, Downtown AutoGroup will consult with the employee to provide, or arrange for the provision of, accessible formats and communication supports for information that is needed to perform his/her job, and information that is generally available to other employees.

In determining the suitability of an accessible format or communication support, Downtown AutoGroup will consult with the employee making the request.

Workplace Emergency Response Information

Downtown AutoGroup will provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees who have a disability, if the disability is such that the individualized information is necessary, and if Performance Cars is aware of the need for accommodation due to the employee's disability. Downtown AutoGroup will provide this information as soon as practicable after becoming aware of the need for accommodation.

Where the employee requires assistance, Downtown AutoGroup will, with the consent of the employee, provide the workplace emergency response information to the person designated by Downtown AutoGroup to provide assistance to the employee.

Downtown AutoGroup will review the individualized workplace emergency response information when the employee moves to a different location in the organization, when the employee's overall accommodations needs or plans are reviewed.

Documented Individual Accommodation Plans

Return to Work Process

Downtown AutoGroup maintains a documented return to work process for its employees who have been absent from work due to a disability and who require disability-related accommodations in order to return to work.

The return to work process outlines the steps Downtown AutoGroup will take to facilitate the return to work and will include documented individual accommodation plans as part of the process.

This return to work process will not replace or override any other return to work process created by or under any other statute (ie., the Workplace Safety Insurance Act, 1997).
